The Wellcome HRB CRF (CRF) is a clinical research partnership between St. James’s Hospital and Trinity College Dublin. Located in the heart of Ireland’s largest teaching hospital it supports a wide range of studies from observational studies to complex clinical trials. Currently the CRF employs approximately 20 staff with the mix of skills and experience needed to conduct high quality clinical research. This specialised team work under a rigorous quality system that meets international standards (ICH-GCP) and has successfully completed Health Product Regulatory Authority Inspections. The CRF includes a research pharmacy and aseptic compounding suite capable of supporting trials of advanced therapies. It also contains neurophysiology and exercise physiology suites and is adjacent to the Centre for Advanced Medical Imaging (3T MRI). The CRF supports the conduct of Phase I (including inpatient) to Phase III clinical trials, medical device studies and non-regulated clinical studies.
